Booking
If you’ve been stranded in Paderborn-Lippstadt due to a flight irregularity, this is a great place to spend the night — or of course for an early morning connection. Both have happened to me. When paying out of pocket, I usually booked through Hotels.com to at least earn every 10th night free. The hotel is independently operated, so there’s no loyalty programme.
Location
This one is pretty straightforward. You walk from the terminal towards the car parks (across the road) and arrive at the hotel dry even in the rain. Time: about 5 minutes.
Check-In
Has always been very friendly and attentive, whether due to a flight disruption or a direct booking. You’ll also be pointed to the free Wi-Fi on arrival.
Room
Nothing particularly special — that would be my short summary. Entering the room, there’s a luggage rack on the left. On the right, you head straight into the bathroom. Sustainability is taken seriously here too, with shampoo and the like dispensed only from refillable bottles. Not personally my favourite approach, but you take what you get.
Amenities
I have to hand out a genuine compliment here. The food in the restaurant is absolutely GREAT. I’m usually cautious with statements like that, but I simply didn’t expect food this good at an airport hotel. The service and the food were really fantastic! I only captured a small part of the menu, but I can assure you that everything I tried was genuinely excellent.
Check-Out
Not digital, but still very smooth and efficient. The bills (where I had to pay) were correct, and I was back on my way to the airport in no time.
Conclusion
Yes, the rooms are getting on in years and the decor seems to have stopped somewhere in the past. But for anyone who values good food and wants to be close to the airport, this hotel won’t let you down. I’d genuinely be happy to come back.
