Air Niugini offers a solid but unremarkable business class experience on the long-haul flight from Port Moresby to Singapore, with friendly service and adequate space in the 2-1-2 layout of the aging Boeing 767. Catering, cleanliness, and entertainment fall short of European or Asian five-star airlines. Travelers heading to Papua New Guinea have few alternatives — but for the adventurous, the experience is still worth the price.
The Paradise Lounge is the only place at Port Moresby Airport where the Wi-Fi actually works reliably. The food and beverage offering is appealing by local standards and includes regional specialties. Overall a pleasant alternative to the rest of the airport's waiting areas.
The Hilton Port Moresby impresses with spacious rooms, friendly service and a good breakfast buffet. The stay was good value for money and the overall ambience was at a solid level. The only caveat is the difficult-to-assess location in Port Moresby, though you feel perfectly safe within the hotel itself.
