Introduction and booking
“Let’s go to Istanbul, we don’t know the new and huge airport yet….or?” This or something similar is how the travel planning began in a lounge. No sooner said than done. We decided to go on this little trip because we didn’t want to sleep at the airport, so we opted for the Hampton by Hilton. (Yes, there is also a transit hotel, but this was outrageously expensive). In retrospect, the transfer via Uber turned out to be a little more difficult, so we took a cab at this late hour and the journey took about 20 minutes. The way back was also easy with an Uber at the early hour. You can find out how we liked it during our short stay here in this review. As always, we booked directly through Hilton to benefit from all the advantages.
Check In
After all the back and forth at the airport, we finally arrived at the hotel and were actually really looking forward to going to bed. So we were also glad that the check-in went quite quickly. However, as we mentioned that we would only be here for just under 5 hours, we were a bit shocked and were immediately offered the chance to take a snack with us later, as breakfast wouldn’t start until later.
Room
Hampton by Hilton got a refresh some time ago. This hotel was or is not particularly old and therefore has the standard you would expect from a Hampton. For whatever reason, I always sleep very well here.
As usual, the bathroom is on the left-hand side. It doesn’t stand out because of its size, but rather because of its functionality. However, as it was clean and sufficient for a shower in the morning, it was absolutely adequate for me.
As always, there is a small cupboard with a safe and hairdryer, as well as a kettle in the entrance area. There is also plenty of space for your suitcase.
As always, the bed takes up most of the room. Next to it is a small but comfortable sitting area.
There was even a small welcome gift. I rarely get anything like that at a Hampton.
Amenities
Even though I didn’t use it, there is also a small fitness room here.

Check Out
Here, Mr. MuellAir and I met a somewhat tired-looking employee who nevertheless did everything. He even quickly got us two bags with something to eat and drink. I found this really super nice.
Conclusion
Good Hampton quality and a fair price/performance ratio. That’s how I would describe it. You just have to be aware that you have to allow 20 minutes transfer time. But it was absolutely fine for our purposes and I would come back in a heartbeat.
