Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Budapest

The Courtyard by Marriott Budapest disappoints with outdated rooms, impersonal service at check-in, and a bumpy check-out experience. The location is a positive highlight, but for the same price, Budapest simply offers better alternatives.

Introduction and booking

Check In

The well-known upgrade game was played. Although it was already late, I didn’t want to bother with it today, so I started discussing it. Suddenly, as if by magic, an upgrade was available. Unfortunately, it had a rather bland aftertaste that I personally have trouble with.

The benefits of my Titanium status were briefly explained to me (just 500 welcome points or a 10 EUR food and beverage voucher) and then I went to my room. As I was leaving rather early, I decided to use the points to grab a quick bite to eat at the airport.

Zimmer

Phew, the first impression you usually get is…..so semi. Time has stood still here and the design of the room is not necessarily well thought out. I could have done without an upgrade.

But back to the room - by the way, there used to be a welcome gift, but that seems to be an exception.

The bathroom is modern, in contrast to the rest of the room.

It should also be noted that the (Junior Suite) consists of two rooms.

There is also a coffee machine and fridge (empty)

Then there is the bedroom, which not only has enough cupboards but also something like an ironing board etc. As always, most of the room is taken up by the bed, which I found very comfortable.

The highlight was the terrace - I really liked it.

Hotel room setup with chocolate truffles and bottle
Hotel room with red sofa and chair in warm tones
Hotel room with desk and TV
Terrace with table and chairs on rooftop during sunset

Amenities

Next to the check-in there is no supermarket and a bar with plenty of seating.

The Hotel also offers a small Gym.

Refrigerators stocked with various drinks and snacks in the hotel.
Sauna with wooden door and information board on the wall

Check Out

Bumpy, simply not as cordial as one would wish. After a few phone calls, I received the promised invoice.

Conclusion

Perhaps the hotel should have been renovated here or there or the staff should have simply been told about the Marriott Bonvoy again. If I don’t absolutely have to, then I won’t come back here. The location is positive, but there are simply nicer hotels that cost about the same.
