Booking
Here too, the booking was made directly through Marriott. As this is a Category 3 hotel, you need between 15,000 and 20,000 points per night. Since there are very attractive deals depending on the season, I decided to pay cash for this hotel.
Location
The long road (Bath Road) is probably familiar to anyone who’s been to London Heathrow and was on their way to a hotel. Unfortunately, you can no longer get here by free bus — instead you can take the Hoppa Bus (GBP 5.50 per way if you buy in advance or GBP 6 if you buy from the driver). Alternatively, you can of course take an UBER.
Check In
Well, it’s Moxy. A bar with upbeat staff who handle both the bar service and check-in (or at least should). You don’t really get much explained here, and recognition of any Marriott status isn’t always granted either. Still, after a short while I had the room key and a complimentary drink in hand and was on my way to the room.
Room
Not particularly large, but functional and kept in the typical Moxy style — also very bright. That’s probably the best way I’d describe it. In the entrance area there’s a small wardrobe and luggage rack.
In the bedroom, besides the bed, there’s a chair and a stool. There’s also a fairly large TV and the option to make coffee and tea. Next to the bed there are power outlets — not quite as many as elsewhere, but still sufficient.
In the bathroom there’s a small shower with the pink Moxy bottles of shower products. There’s also a rather generously sized sink.
Check Out
This time, check-out was completely digital — I dropped off the key cards and the bill was correct.
Verdict
Due to the short stay, I unfortunately couldn’t try out the other things at the Moxy. Breakfast would have been included, but I’ll give that a go next time. Next time? Yes, I’d come back. Especially if you know the sometimes outrageous prices around Heathrow Airport — here you’ll find a decent and clean place to stay for little money.
