This is a review of the Sheraton Düsseldorf.
Getting There
Quite easy — if you arrive at Düsseldorf Airport, just follow the signs towards “Hotel”. It depends a bit on whether you’re traveling with or without luggage. Without luggage you’ll need to go down one floor later, with luggage it’s on the same level.
Check In
Very straightforward and well prepared. The only thing required was filling out the registration form. It was really just about the purpose of the visit — business or leisure.
Room:
A surprise was waiting for me here. I received an upgrade to a Junior Suite (of which there are only a few).
Worth noting is that I a.) only received the upgrade because there were few guests, and b.) because of my Marriott status (Titanium Status in this case). This is another reason why it pays off to book directly with Marriott. That way you get all the benefits that come with any status you may hold.
A great touch was having a “proper” coffee machine (Nespresso) as well as some high-quality tea varieties, which I always appreciate.
Dining:
It should be mentioned that due to the Corona situation, only room service was available (at no extra charge). So in the evening, alongside a very nice complimentary amenity courtesy of the hotel, I also had a good evening snack.
For breakfast, everything from the menu was available as well (on a different visit I was able to dine in the restaurant) — here too, everything was served on request.
Check Out:
This went very professionally, though I did have to wait quite a while as no one was at the desk. The bill was correct, and they wished me a pleasant onward journey. Next to the reception, you could help yourself to complimentary coffee or tea, which I definitely consider a nice gesture.
Verdict:
Would I recommend the hotel? Given the affordable price and the fantastic location right at the terminal… yes! For a short stay, I can highly recommend this hotel.
