Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel and Conference Center (Before COVID)

The Sheraton Frankfurt Airport impresses with a bright, well-maintained room and exceptionally friendly service – the restaurant in particular leaves a lasting impression. The location directly at Terminal 1 makes it the ideal stopover hotel for travelers with Marriott status. A clear recommendation to return.

Booking

Once again booked directly through Marriott and with cashback. Sure, you don’t get a lot of money back, but I always find it a great option. I booked the cheapest room and received an upgrade thanks to the direct booking (on top of the points and lounge access etc.). By the way, it’s a Category 4 hotel, so you’ll need between 20,000 and 30,000 points depending on the season for a free night.

Location

From Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport, you can reach the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport via a covered walkway. I’d estimate the walk at about 8-10 minutes from baggage claim with luggage.

Check In

Admittedly, I took this photo in the morning during early check-out. But it wasn’t very busy otherwise either, and the staff was clearly making an effort to give guests all the information they needed. Here’s the photo with the details.

Room

I had booked a Standard Room and received a minor upgrade to the Premium Room. Lounge access was included anyway thanks to my status.

What stood out most about the room was the very bright ambiance. In the entrance area, there’s a luggage rack as well as a closet, and to the right of that is the bathroom.

There’s also a coffee machine next to the TV, with a small safe underneath. Besides that, there was complimentary water, which I always appreciate. Below the TV there’s a small minibar — or rather, a small fridge.

The desk and chair don’t look that large, but they’re actually really good — especially the chair. Next to it there’s an ottoman that invites you to relax.

The bathroom isn’t huge, but it’s very bright and above all clean. There are plenty of toiletries, and if you need more you can order them either by phone or through the app.

Lounge

Due to renovations (as they called it), the lounge was set up in a meeting room. Perfectly fine by me — they clearly put a lot of effort into it and the service was very good.

Besides drinks, there were also small snacks, which is absolutely fine — especially when I think of the selection you get in the US.

Alcoholic drinks were available in the fridge, and wine was served in the evening during happy hour.

Food / Restaurant

A HUGE compliment here! Truly a fantastic selection and the service was absolutely outstanding. I’ve rarely experienced such great service in a hotel. Vegetarians might want to look away, but you could choose your steak and it was grilled to perfection. The starter and everything that came with it… simply superb.

Check Out

This went very quickly and smoothly. On top of that, because of the early hour, they gave us a snack box to take along. Oddly enough, it included drinks that you’d have to down quickly to make it through security. Still, a lovely gesture.

Conclusion

I would definitely stay here again — I thought the room was very nice and the staff was always friendly. The room was very clean and the food was great. What more could you want? I was definitely very satisfied!

What are your experiences? I’d love to hear about them!
