Normally this hotel is considered quite expensive. If you’re using points, it’s a Category 5 property, meaning you’ll need between 40,000 and 60,000 points. For this stay I used the cash rate and, as always, booked directly through Marriott to take advantage of status benefits.
Location
One of the hotel’s major advantages is undoubtedly its location directly at — or rather inside — Terminal 2 at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. In practical terms, that means you’re in the hotel very quickly. Of course, anyone familiar with CDG knows that the distances can sometimes be quite long. If you arrive at a different terminal, you can take the convenient train that connects one terminal to the next.
Check-In
Check-in was a little on the cool side, but after I asked, the agent did explain my status benefits and pointed out where everything was located. The hotel isn’t particularly wide but it is very long, which becomes apparent in the lengthy corridors.
Room
Given the hotel’s location and my request for a view over the apron, I was truly not disappointed. In terms of room type, I had a junior suite.
On the left side was a renovated bathroom, followed by the bedroom.
The bedroom featured a comfortable bed (I genuinely love the beds at Sheraton), two wardrobes with a safe, an ironing board, and a TV. In the evening a turndown service was even offered. A small evening snack was also waiting for me along with a handwritten card — a gesture I always appreciate.
As mentioned, the bathroom has been renovated and offers not only an extensive selection of amenities but also a “Relax your Senses” shower. What’s that? You can insert capsules with different aromas into the shower — essentially like a Nespresso machine, except in the morning there’s no coffee flavor to wake you up. But I thought the concept was really lovely, and I hadn’t come across it before.
The second room featured a sofa, a seating area (which felt a little out of place to me), a workspace, and two TVs.
On the other side there was also a small minibar and two complimentary small Evian bottles. Tea and coffee facilities were available as well, though unfortunately no proper coffee machine.
The attentive observer of the photos may notice that there were a few spots here and there showing signs of wear. Personally, I find it a shame that when the bathroom was renovated, the rest of the room wasn’t also looked at more carefully and touched up where needed.
The highlight is certainly the view — I really enjoyed it.
Lounge
The lounge offers soft drinks, coffee, tea, and (very small) snacks throughout the day. In the morning you can also have breakfast here, though I didn’t make use of that given my early departure time. In the evening there’s a happy hour with alcoholic beverages as well as a fairly decent selection of salads, bagels, cheese, and two hot dishes — you can definitely leave satisfied. Anyone watching their carb intake might be better served by the restaurant, of course.
The lounge itself isn’t particularly large — it’s clearly made up of two converted guest rooms. There’s a somewhat dim separate area that also serves as a small business center.
Check-Out
Early in the morning the team was very motivated and everything went smoothly and pleasantly. The bill was sent by email and was correct.
Verdict
You do pay a premium for the great location, but I would book the Sheraton Paris Airport Hotel & Conference Centre again without hesitation. The view, the location, and the genuinely friendly service all speak in its favor. It’s a pity that some of the older furniture hasn’t been replaced.
