Location
The lounge is located right after security in Terminal 3, upstairs in the gallery. At just 150 m², it’s quite small and designed for 42 guests. This gives it a cozy feel, but it can quickly reach capacity.
Access is (still) fairly strictly regulated:
- Free entry for:
HON Circle Members of the Lufthansa Group (LH, LX, OS, EW)
- Business Class passengers of KLM, Air France, ITA Airways, Air Baltic
- Elite Plus members of KLM, Air France, ITA Airways
- Children up to and including 2 years of age
According to the airport, changes are planned, but these rules currently apply.
Amenities
The lounge consists essentially of one large room that opens toward the window front.
Highlights:
-
Views of the apron — not hyperactive in Stuttgart, but still a plus for aviation fans
-
Lots of aviation artwork decorates the walls
Drinks
- Soft drinks, water, coffee, tea
- Beer & wine
- No spirits
Some guests treated the small bottles more as a “take-away option” — which isn’t quite in the spirit of things .
Food
During my visit, I happened to catch the transition from breakfast to lunch. The quality was solid and the selection sufficient to ensure you wouldn’t board the plane hungry. A gourmet spread is naturally not to be expected here, but as a quick bite between flights, it does the job.
Further Notes
-
Power outlets: Available, but not everywhere. You’ll find some at the high tables in particular, but otherwise they’re somewhat “hidden.”
-
Restrooms: There are none directly in the lounge, but they’re just a few steps from the entrance.
Service & Atmosphere
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive during my visit. In a small lounge, that makes a big difference — you feel welcome and well looked after.
The atmosphere itself is rather quiet and relaxed. Precisely because the lounge is small, it feels almost a little exclusive — though this can vary greatly depending on the time of day.
Verdict
The lounge at Stuttgart Terminal 3 is small but perfectly formed. Those who have access (or choose to purchase it) will find a peaceful alternative to the terminal bustle, with solid refreshments and friendly service.
There are a few drawbacks — the size, the lack of spirits, and the limited power outlets — but overall it’s a pleasant place to pass the time before your flight.
