Location & Access
Terminal 1, near Gate D30 – somewhere between luxurious understatement and slightly worn Empire nostalgia. Access is available for BA Business & First passengers as well as Oneworld Sapphire/Emerald members. The lounge shares its floor with the Qantas Business Lounge, the considerably cooler sister next door – so: check in first, then quickly compare.
Food & Drinks
The buffet is classic BA: solid, but so conservative you’d almost feel like wearing a Queen’s Guard uniform. Sandwiches, curries, soups – all with genuine effort but British seasoning (meaning: barely any). On the plus side: the bar area with a decent gin selection. Hendrick’s, Bombay, Tanqueray – here they know how to process their colonial history in liquid form. Wine and champagne? Yes, but nothing that would make the French nervous.
Seating & Facilities
British-pragmatic – lots of grey, some leather, plenty of carpet. Space is tight, especially before evening flights to London when half of Singapore wants to get to Heathrow. That said: fast Wi-Fi, clean showers and a decent work area.
Tips & Highlights
Gin lovers take note: the bar is self-service – a blessing if you know what you’re doing.
Verdict
The BA Lounge in Singapore serves its purpose and is actually not half bad.
“A lounge that does G&T better than hospitality – but then again, that’s British tradition.”
