Brussels - Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport (BRU)

The Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport is a solid but unremarkable airport hotel — perfectly serviceable for a stopover if you're paying with IHG points. That said, anyone spending more time in Brussels would be better off looking at the Hotel Indigo.

Booking

I made the booking through the IHG Rewards app. I chose the cheapest available room, a King Guest Room, since I was only in Brussels for a short night before catching an early flight onward to Geneva. The hotel was meant to bridge the gap between two flights.

Location

From Brussels Airport (BRU), the hotel is reachable in about 10 minutes by public transport (bus), car, or hotel shuttle. Unfortunately the connections aren’t quite as seamless as you’d hope, and the signage at the airport could use some improvement.

Check-In

Arriving late in the evening, I hadn’t anticipated the volume of guests checking in at the same time. After a short wait I was able to get to the desk. The staff were very helpful and friendly — I was assigned a room on the top floor, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the complimentary drink vouchers for status members are no longer offered, something I’ve always appreciated in the past.

Room

The first impression of the room was quite good. The entryway is reasonably well lit. On the left is the bathroom, complete with a bathtub, toilet, and shower. I was pleasantly surprised by how bright the bathroom was. The usual basic toiletries — shower gel and shampoo — were provided, as expected.

In the room itself, alongside the bed, there are two comfortable armchairs, a small side table, and a proper writing desk.

The TV was housed in a cabinet that also contained the dresser. A mirrored wall conceals the wardrobe, safe, and ironing board.

Amenities

The fitness room is generously equipped and accessible at any time with the room key.

Restaurant

Breakfast is available as a buffet — since I checked out before the breakfast service started, I unfortunately wasn’t able to test it.

Check-Out

Check-out was once again smooth and friendly. A shuttle was arranged without any fuss, and I was back at the airport in no time.

Verdict

For the points spent, the stay was perfectly fine. A typical airport hotel — if you’re actually spending time in Brussels, I’d recommend the Indigo instead.
