The Diamond Lounge Brussels is not a spectacular lounge, but it reliably serves its purpose: a quieter environment away from the terminal with adequate food, drinks, and natural light. Those with Priority Pass access will find solid value here — only the lack of power outlets and the plain décor slightly dampen the overall impression.
The Sheraton Brussels Airport impresses primarily with its unbeatable location – reachable from the terminal in under two minutes. The rooms, however, show clear signs of age and no longer feel contemporary. Those who consciously factor in the premium for airport proximity get a solid, but by no means luxurious, overnight option.
The outbound flight disappointed with service on par with Ryanair, while the return flight impressed with a warm welcome, proactive service, and a good breakfast. The Business Class product is very basic — identical seat pitch to Economy (30 cm, merely the middle seat left empty) — and the author would not pay the upgrade fee on this short-haul route.
The Crowne Plaza Brussels Airport is a solid but unremarkable airport hotel — perfectly serviceable for a stopover if you're paying with IHG points. That said, anyone spending more time in Brussels would be better off looking at the Hotel Indigo.
The Loft in Brussels is one of the most beautiful business lounges in the Lufthansa Group and clearly surpasses an average Lufthansa Lounge. The attention to detail — from the Lexus collaboration to the relaxation room with its starry ceiling and the separate HON area — makes the difference. A clear must-visit for all Star Alliance travellers departing from Brussels.
