For my short stopover in Dubai, I decided to try a hotel I hadn’t stayed at before: the DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Al Jadaf. As always with Dubai’s seemingly endless selection of hotels, choosing is no easy task. But after a bit of research and a look back at the hotel reviews we’d already published, this was the one I landed on. Spoiler alert — it was the right call!
Location & Access: Central and Easy to Reach
The location worked perfectly for me: the ride from the airport took just 15 minutes, which is genuinely impressive for Dubai. The price was also more than fair for what I was after. Of course, Dubai has hotels closer to the centre or the beaches, but for a quick overnight where connectivity and comfort are what matter most, the DoubleTree Al Jadaf was absolutely spot on.
Check-In: Fast and Straightforward
Check-in went exactly as it should — quick, professional, and hassle-free. There was a bit of small talk at the front desk, but before long I had my room key in hand. A nice touch: I was handed a bottle of water on arrival, which I really appreciated — especially when you’re a little thirsty after a flight.
If you need to stock up on essentials, there’s also a small “supermarket” right in the lobby where you can grab fresh coffee too.
Room: Practical, But With Everything You Need
The room was surprisingly no-frills — nothing excessive, but nothing missing either. It was functional, which is all you really need for a short stay like mine. Right as you walk in, the bathroom is on the left. Here you can tell no one’s been cutting corners: shower cap, toothbrush, and vanity kit were all present — the kind of extras that many hotels have quietly dropped these days, and I genuinely appreciated finding them.
Opposite the bathroom was the bed (in my case, a twin setup, which was a little unexpected but no problem at all). At the wardrobe you’ll find a bathrobe, a safe, and the TV, which catches your eye straight away.
I particularly liked having a kettle with instant coffee and tea. Two water bottles were also provided — in short, everything you need for a quick overnight stay.
Another highlight was the small welcome gift: a few chocolates and a handwritten greeting card — it’s a little gesture, but it always puts a smile on your face.
Next to the bed there was also an armchair with a side table — it looked a bit squeezed in and wasn’t really functional, but for one night it didn’t really matter. The bed itself was, as always with Hilton, very comfortable and piled with pillows. And for anyone who needs even more pillows, I found a fresh supply in the wardrobe the next morning. Power sockets and USB ports hadn’t been forgotten either, which is a real bonus for a frequent flyer and tech nerd like me.
Amenities: Breakfast, Fitness & Pool
Breakfast is served in the ground-floor restaurant. You simply give your room number and then it’s a matter of finding a free table. It was quite busy on my morning, but I was seated quickly. The buffet was genuinely varied — from local specialities to international classics, there was something for every taste. Dishes were topped up regularly, so nothing ever looked sparse.
For anyone looking to work off that generous breakfast: the top floor has a fitness room and a small pool. The pool isn’t huge, but for a hotel like the DoubleTree it’s more than adequate — especially if you just want to cool off.
Beside the pool there’s a bar — perfect for a drink after your swim. The gym is well equipped if you want to lift a few weights.
For anyone who needs to do laundry, that’s taken care of too.
One small but interesting detail: each floor has a dedicated phone room. Whether it actually gets much use, I’m not sure, but I thought it was a nice idea for anyone needing a bit of privacy for a call.
Check-Out: Smooth and Quick
Check-out was busy, but everything still moved fast. A staff member came straight over, asked about my departure and whether I needed anything else. Once I confirmed I was ready to go, my key was taken and my bill arrived shortly after. All in all, a seamless process — no detours, no waiting around. I was practically able to walk straight into my waiting Uber.
Verdict: Ideal for One Night, But Not for a Longer Stay
For my short stay, the DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Al Jadaf was exactly what I was looking for. The value for money was right, and the location suited my needs perfectly. Clean, comfortable, and uncomplicated — exactly what you need for a quick overnight stop.
That said, if I were spending longer in Dubai, I’d probably look for something closer to the centre or the beaches. But for a practical stopover? It would absolutely make my shortlist again.
