Hilton - Hilton Mallorca (Junior Suite)

The Hilton Galazo on Mallorca impresses with spacious Junior Suites, a beautiful pool area, and a high-quality breakfast buffet. As a new resort, not all processes are fully streamlined yet, which was noticeable during check-in. The quiet, secluded location is ideal for relaxing, even if an Executive Lounge is lacking.

3.9 / 5

When planning this trip, it was clear from the start that this was a spontaneous affair — booking a stylish hotel on Mallorca at a reasonable price with relatively short notice during the summer holidays. That’s when booking the “new” Hilton Galazo seemed like the perfect opportunity. The Galazo is the only Hilton property on the island of Mallorca.

As a Diamond member, I opted for the most affordable rate for two rooms. This time I booked through the website rather than the app as I usually do. The booking was made as a combined reservation, meaning both rooms were booked together.

Location

The Hilton Mallorca is located near the motorway — though you’d never notice it — and is somewhat off the beaten path, making it wonderfully quiet and pleasant. Depending on traffic, the just over 30-kilometre journey from the airport to the hotel complex takes around 30 minutes. The hotel is situated near the town of Peguera, though it’s difficult to reach by public transport without a considerable walk. The uncovered car park is free to use.

Check-In

Since both the flight and the rental car went smoothly, we arrived at the hotel before the regular check-in time. The check-in itself wasn’t quite as straightforward as usual. On one hand, official ID documents had to be checked and recorded for all guests; on the other, only one of the two rooms was ready. As a Diamond member, both rooms received an upgrade to the next category. Afterwards, there was a brief overview and introduction to the hotel and resort, along with a printed map to help us find our way around.

Room

The rooms are very spacious and clean. In the entrance area is the living room section with a generously sized balcony. The bedroom is in a separate area behind a door, through which the bathroom can also be accessed.

The spacious bathroom features a bathtub. The toiletries are at the solid quality level you’d expect from Hilton.

The balcony has two comfortable chairs and a table, which I enjoyed using in the evenings.

Since the minibar/fridge was empty, we used the time while waiting for the second room to be ready to stock it with our preferred items.

The room furnishings are more than adequate for my needs. USB ports for charging mobile devices and premium Wi-Fi feel appropriate by today’s standards — the only downside being that the power sockets require an EU adapter, but that’s easy to plan for. Both the bedroom and the living room area feature a large TV displaying a personalised welcome message.

Amenities

In addition to the spa, the resort offers a variety of pools, both indoor and outdoor. The gym is well equipped and, along with the indoor pool and spa area, is open until 7 pm. We didn’t use the tennis courts due to the heat. The outdoor pool in the main area is generously sized, with a lovely lawn for sunbathing and a pool bar.

Dining

The resort has several restaurants on site, though not all of them are open during the shoulder season. The food is high quality, and the breakfast buffet is filled with fresh and locally sourced items. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves here.

Check-Out

Check-out was uneventful, and everything was consolidated onto a single bill — which, combined with a double points promotion, added up to a very generous points haul. One advantage of Hilton is that you can earn points for up to three rooms, provided all rooms are on one bill and settled with a single payment method.

Verdict

The resort is new to Hilton, so not all workflows are fully dialled in yet. The seclusion is genuinely great for disconnecting and unwinding. I did miss having a lounge, but it’s not a dealbreaker.
