Hotel Hilton Tallinn Park (King One Bedroom Suite)

The Hilton Tallinn Park impresses above all with an excellent price-to-value ratio and a central location from which the city centre is easily reachable on foot. Status members benefit from attractive perks such as suite upgrades and small extras. Service was a little sluggish at times, but this barely detracts from the overall positive impression.

Introduction

For a trip to Tallinn I ended up staying at the Hilton this time around. Read on to find out how I liked it and whether I’d choose it again.

Booking & Location

I didn’t book the hotel too far in advance and got a very good rate for it. I booked directly with Hilton to take advantage of my Diamond Status benefits here as well. Shortly before my stay I received word that I had been upgraded from my reserved standard room to a King One Bedroom Suite. Fantastic!

In terms of location, pretty much everything in the city centre is easily walkable — the exact address is Fr. R. Kreutzwaldi 23, 10147 Tallinn. Right next to the hotel there is also a lovely park. Coming from the airport, you’re looking at roughly 15 minutes to the hotel depending on the time of day.

Check-In

The first impression of the hotel was very good. I really liked the lobby with its bar and various seating areas. The actual check-in process did take a moment, though the staff member was exceptionally friendly throughout. After a short while I was on my way to the lift with my room key in hand.

Room

The first impression of the room was excellent and it was spotlessly clean. On the left side there is a wardrobe with an ironing board, safe, bathrobe and hairdryer.

Next comes the living/work area with a couch opposite the TV and a desk at the other end. A small but excellent Bose system takes care of quality audio.

There is also a paid minibar as well as tea and coffee making facilities. As a status member, two bottles of water were included and waiting for me upon arrival. Unfortunately there was no special amenity gift or welcome letter beyond that.

Adjoining the living room is the bedroom, which stands out with a comfortable bed in classic Hilton style. There are also plenty of power sockets and charging options distributed throughout the room.

Next to the bedroom is the lovely bathroom. Alongside a large shower there is also a bathtub as well as a separate WC. Amenities such as shampoo and so on were also well stocked.

Amenities

The Executive Lounge is still closed at the moment. It is nice to see, however, that the restaurant offers a “Happy Hour” with small snacks and a selection of (alcoholic) drinks. At other times of day, soft drinks as well as nuts and similar snacks are available to help yourself to.

Breakfast is also served in the restaurant and it certainly delivers. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to photograph everything there. The quality was solid Hilton standard, and freshly made egg dishes were on offer as well. When the weather is pleasant you can also have breakfast on the terrace outside, or grab something to eat there throughout the day. Service, however, was on the slow side.

There is also a very small pool and fitness area on site.

Check-Out

Check-out was surprisingly slow despite there being very few guests. Partly because the computers apparently decided not to cooperate that particular day, and partly because only two staff members were handling check-outs. These things happen, but they don’t have to. After a while everything was sorted and the invoice was sent by email as requested.

Verdict

Definitely a clear recommendation from me if I’m ever back in Tallinn. The price-to-value ratio (especially for status members) was excellent, and I also appreciated the great location.
