For my South America holiday, I opted for the legendary Iberia Business Class deal with direct flights from Madrid to Santiago de Chile and back. On the return leg with Iberia, I no longer had access to the SkyTeam Lounge. Santiago Airport offers several lounges within the secure area, accessible depending on your card, cabin class, or status. The most well-known are the LATAM Lounges.
Location & Access
The LATAM Lounges are located past security and passport control in International Terminal 2, making them accessible only to passengers on international flights.
One advantage is that all LATAM Lounges are located right next to each other.
-
Signature Lounge: Open to members with the highest LATAM and Delta status.
-
World Member Lounge: Also open to Santander credit card holders.
-
Premium Lounge: Open to LATAM members, LATAM Business Class, as well as Iberia Business Class and status customers.
Amenities
The size is adequate for midday flights. How it holds up with multiple evening departures is hard to say. Since the lounge has no windows, it feels quite dark.
The lounge has both restrooms and showers, as you’d expect. The food is tailored to the time of day and is of good quality. Cold drinks can be taken self-service from the refrigerators. Hot beverages are available on request.
There are a few workstations and a small business center with a printer, though the lounge isn’t really suited for serious work. For relaxing, there are various sofas and armchairs in different sizes.
Flight information is displayed on the screens available throughout the lounge.
Verdict
The wood-design furnishings create a pleasant and elegant ambiance that invites you to sit back and relax. The Offer from Food and Beverages are good and you can relax here while waiting on your flight.
