For travelers flying Lufthansa First Class, there are two lounge options at Bogotá Airport. This review covers the LATAM VIP Lounge, located in Terminal 1. After navigating the rather interesting security check and making your way through duty-free, head right. A short walk later and you’ve reached the lounge. If you’re booked in Lufthansa First Class, you’ll be escorted there directly from check-in through security — and they’ll arrange a pickup time with you on the spot. True to their word, the same staff member returns punctually to walk you to the gate.
As a side note, this lounge is also accessible with a Priority Pass. Take the lift to the first floor and you’ll be greeted warmly upon arrival.
Amenities
The lounge essentially consists of one large room divided down the middle by partitions. On the right side as you enter, there are relaxed seating areas designed for unwinding. On the other side, you’ll find more table seating — better suited if you want to eat comfortably.
The food and drink selection is simple but not bad: sandwiches, salad, cold cuts, and fruit. The fridge is stocked with soft drinks, and there’s also a selection of alcoholic beverages. The coffee machine, however, is unfortunately quite poor — I’d skip it.
Bathroom
The bathroom was very clean and well-maintained during my visit. No showers, unfortunately, though that’s not a dealbreaker.
Verdict
This lounge is recommended by Lufthansa, though you do have a choice. It’s nothing special, but it gets the job done when there’s enough space. Would I come to the airport earlier just for this? Definitely not. Fine for a brief stay, but that’s about it. The gate escort worked perfectly — someone came by right on time, walked me directly to the gate, and I was able to board straight away.
