Thanks to a fantastic invitation from Mr. MuellAir, I had the chance to visit Valencia for an event. On my return journey, I ended up with a bit more time at the airport than expected – the perfect opportunity to check out the Sala VIP Lounge in Terminal 1. Here’s how it went, and whether it’s worth a visit.
Location & Access
The lounge is located in Terminal 1, on the way to Gates 13–22. You can’t miss it – it’s on the right-hand side and clearly signposted.
I accessed the lounge with my HON Circle status, but there are several other ways to get in:
- Business Class ticket holders
- Members of Priority Pass, Dragon Pass, LoungeKey, and similar programs
- Paid access is also available at EUR 44.60
Opening hours: Daily from 04:30 AM, which is great for early flights.
The staff at the reception were polite and efficient — a quick scan of my digital pass, and I was inside within seconds.
Facilities
The layout is simple but functional — essentially one large room with a mix of seating areas, ranging from café-style tables to lounge chairs. Despite the compact space, it feels bright, clean, and well-organized.
Family Corner
Near the stairs to the upper level, there’s a small children’s play area — a thoughtful addition that’s surprisingly rare in many lounges.
Two Levels – A Smart Idea
When the main floor gets busy, head upstairs. The second floor offers plenty of empty seats, comfortable armchairs, and even a few workspaces. It’s almost always quiet — a hidden gem for travelers who prefer some peace before their flight.
Upstairs, you’ll also find self-service fridges stocked with water and soft drinks — handy if you just want to relax away from the crowd.
This is the view downstairs:
Food & Drinks
The food and beverage area is located on the lower level. The offering is solid but not extensive. Here’s what you can expect:
- Prepared sandwiches and toppings to make your own
- Cold cuts, cheeses, salads, and pastries
- Coffee and tea selection
- Alcoholic drinks (wine, beer, sparkling wine) and separately also hard liquor
The quality is decent for a quick snack before a flight, but warm meals are missing — an area where this lounge could easily improve. Staff refilled the buffet regularly, although during busy times it felt a bit rushed.
Power & Connectivity
Plenty of power outlets are available, especially along the high tables and wall seats. The Wi-Fi was reliable and fast — ideal for catching up on emails or streaming something short before boarding.
Restrooms you can also find in the lounge, this is a benefit when you ask me. During my stay they were clean and in good condition.
Departure & Overall Impression
After spending about an hour in the lounge, I left with mixed but generally positive impressions. The upper floor was quiet and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the space clean throughout.
However, the food options are quite limited for a lounge that charges over €40 for entry. Adding a few warm disheswould really elevate the experience.
Verdict
The Sala VIP Lounge Valencia is a solid, no-frills lounge that offers comfort, calm, and friendly service — especially if you escape to the upper floor. It’s not a must-visit lounge that justifies an early airport arrival, but it’s a pleasant spot to wait for your flight in peace.
