Yes, even at the small regional airport of Paderborn/Lippstadt there is actually a (small) lounge.
Check-In
I only mention this because you’ll receive the access code for the lounge at check-in.
Location
Since the airport is quite — let’s call it compact — the lounge is very easy to find. Once you’ve cleared security and passed through the small duty-free area, head right.
At the end of the terminal you’ll find yourself right in front of the lounge. To get in, simply enter the code that was written on your boarding pass at check-in.
Amenities
Please don’t expect too much — this lounge is operated by the airport itself, and aside from seating with power outlets, the drink selection consists of beer, water, orange juice, and apple juice. There’s also a coffee machine that can prepare a range of hot drinks. You could debate the quality a little, but it’s a nice gesture.
Verdict
As a place to catch your breath before a flight, it’s a thoughtful touch — especially since larger airports like Dortmund don’t have a lounge at all. Would I arrive extra early just for this? No, definitely not.
