Kuala Lumpur Airport (KUL) has several Malaysia Airlines lounges past security, which can be used depending on your card, cabin class, or status.
Location and Access
The Golden Lounge Regional is located in the main building of Kuala Lumpur Airport. There is also an International Lounge in the satellite terminal as well as a Domestic Lounge. Since my flight departed from the main terminal, I opted for the Regional Lounge. The lounge is conveniently located past passport control and security.
Access to the lounge is available to Business Class passengers as well as select status holders traveling on a Oneworld flight.
Amenities
The lounge is very bright and offers a wonderful view of the apron and partly also the gates. The lounge is generously designed, which is clearly noticeable in the amount of space available.
Besides the obligatory restrooms, which are very clean, there are several separate areas for relaxation and dining.
Additionally, there is a meeting room as well as a full-sized play area for children of all ages. Power outlets are generously available depending on the seat you choose.
The selection of soft drinks and hot beverages is generous. The food is of good quality and covers both delicious regional specialties and international options.
The lounge has several screens displaying departures, making for a very pleasant and unhurried atmosphere.
The quiet rooms and relaxation areas are separated by gender.
Verdict
The lounge is a gem and it is always worth arriving a little earlier, especially if you enjoy the view of the apron and the aircraft.
