Bologna Airport doesn’t exactly have a lot of lounges — to be honest, just one. Whether this lounge is worth it, you’ll find out in this review.
Location and Access
The lounge is located before security. You simply need to walk to the “right” and follow the signs. Since there’s only one lounge, it’s hard to miss.
Since Lufthansa has ended its partnership with many lounges, you can’t access this one as a Senator, Star Alliance Gold, or Business Class traveler either. However, I was still able to get in through the Priority Pass. Alternatively, you can purchase a day pass on-site.
Amenities
The lounge doesn’t exactly impress with great design — it’s really just a large room with various seating options and a staffed bar. Since the lounge is located landside, the view is limited to the parking garage.
The bar offers really good coffee, but they’ll also serve you small sandwiches or other alcoholic drinks (Prosecco, wine, Aperol Spritz, etc.). Unfortunately, there are no hot meals, which would have been really nice.
You can help yourself from the fridge. I found the selection more than sufficient and solid.
There’s also a somewhat separated room, though it’s only a glass partition that separates you from the rest of the lounge.
One notable perk is that you can get from landside to airside through a fast track. You do have to actively ask for it, though. Once you do, it works very well and is extremely quick.
Conclusion
Certainly sufficient for a short stay — it’s a shame there are no hot meals (at least not when I was there). The fast track gets you through security very quickly, which is a major plus. Other than that, the staff were very friendly and attentive throughout my entire visit.
