Air Dolomiti Business Class on the Munich–Geneva route disappoints particularly in service and catering: the offering was limited to some fresh fruit and a small snack – hardly adequate for Business Class. The service was friendly but lacked warmth, and overall the product has declined further compared to previous experiences. A deliberate booking with Air Dolomiti is therefore hard to recommend.
China Airlines impresses on the short-haul flight from Osaka to Taipei with warm service – including a personal greeting at the door – and an outstanding entertainment system with top-notch headphones. The regional Business Class in a 2-2-2 configuration offers solid comfort, even if it can't compete with a full-flat long-haul cabin. The flight definitely leaves you wanting more: China Airlines on a long-haul route has moved straight to the top of the wish list.
Eva Air delivers a solid business class product even on the short regional flight from Taipei to Manila aboard the Airbus A330. The outstanding headphone quality, generous entertainment selection, and excellent value for money — just around CHF 150 more than economy — leave a positive impression. The appetite for a long-haul flight with Eva Air has definitely been whetted.
The outbound flight disappointed with service on par with Ryanair, while the return flight impressed with a warm welcome, proactive service, and a good breakfast. The Business Class product is very basic — identical seat pitch to Economy (30 cm, merely the middle seat left empty) — and the author would not pay the upgrade fee on this short-haul route.
Air Serbia impresses on the short-haul Zürich–Belgrade route with excellent service and solid catering including a printed menu. The business upgrade for CHF 100 offers outstanding value for money and makes Air Serbia a clear recommendation within Europe.
With the new 'Tasting Heimat' menu, Lufthansa has created a strong product that brings regional German city cuisine on board — and clearly surpasses what came before. The dishes from Hamburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig, and Munich impress with freshness and flavor, even if portion sizes and consistency vary slightly.
The Edelweiss Air Business Class amenity kit disappoints with a very sparse selection of socks, sleep mask, toothbrush, toothpaste, and earplugs. It does not reflect the quality of the business class product and leaves a weak overall impression.
The outbound flight with Swiss impressed with an exceptionally motivated and warm crew, while the return flight with Helvetic Airlines disappointed with reserved service and a limited drinks selection. COVID-related restrictions were noticeable on both flights — from chaotic boarding processes to reduced onboard service. Overall, a solid but inconsistent short-haul Business Class experience.
