Welcome to another hotel review! This time it’s the Westin Warsaw, which I’ve visited several times before.
Booking
I booked directly with Westin (yes, via cashback site) to get the regular rate plus Platinum member benefits. Important note: This depends on your travel habits. If you always use Hotels.com without Marriott status, you’ll often get the same price (including cashback and bonus nights), but status perks only come with direct hotel bookings.
Location
The location isn’t perfectly central but walkable with good shoes. Honestly, Uber/Bolt is the better choice. We took one from the airport – ~20 minutes, very fair price.
Check-In
Very friendly and efficient. I quickly received my room key, drink vouchers, and hotel info. After requesting late check-out, it was straight to the elevator and up to the room.
Room – Executive Suite Upgrade
Thanks to Platinum status, I got a nice upgrade from the base room to an Executive Suite – really beautiful! Some age shows here and there, but excellent cleanliness and everything I liked.
In addition to a guest toilet, the entrance area also features a storage space and a Nespresso machine. There is also a kettle and tea bags. Everything is very nice and generously provided.
Seating area
The actual seating area is very spacious with a couch and seating options. There is also a table, storage space, and a fairly large TV.
Im Schlafzimmer befindet sich neben dem grossen Bett auch ein ansprechender Fernseher ( vis a vis vom Bett) dann folgt noch ein kleiner Gang mit einem Schrank und der Weg zum Bad / WC. Neben dem Bett hat es genügend Steckdosen, ansonsten sind die im Zimmer doch eher…verteilt vorhanden. Kein Grund zur Panik aber so viele hat es eben dann doch nicht. IM Badezimmer war neben den Pfegeprodukten auch alles andere vorhanden was man benötigt (Bademäntel mit Slipper etc)
Bathroom
Executive Lounge
It was located on a different floor and could be accessed with the room card. The staff are really very friendly and helpful, which I really appreciated.
Throughout the day, free snacks (chips) and soft drinks are available. In the evening, the lounge impresses with a noticeably improved selection. In addition to alcoholic beverages (and here the selection of different vodka varieties stands out), there is also a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There is also a small but fine selection of hot dishes that are really good.
Breakfast
I enjoyed breakfast both in the lounge and in the restaurant. As is usually the case, the selection in the lounge is somewhat limited, but honestly, you’ll definitely get your fill.
In contrast, the selection in the restaurant is truly diverse and varied. As it was really busy I was not able to take good enough pictures.
Check-Out
Quick and correct. Uber arrived right after. They proactively offered late check-out – excellent gesture!
Fazit
Klar sind die Hotelpreise in Polen nicht auf dem Niveau wie in der Schweiz, aber deshalb muss man keinen Abstrich in der Qualität machen. Das Zimmer war immer noch in einem gutem Zustand ( ja auch mit den ein oder anderen Alterserscheinungen ) aber dennoch habe habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt und würde auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.
