Location & Access
Anyone passing through Brussels Airport will almost inevitably come across the Diamond Lounge. It’s located in the Schengen area, just a few steps from the well-known “The Loft Brussels.” If you don’t have access to that lounge — perhaps because it’s at capacity or the entry requirements don’t apply — you can simply continue down the corridor. The Diamond Lounge is hard to miss.
The access options are pleasantly broad. In addition to business class passengers and frequent flyer status holders, lounge pass holders — such as Priority Pass members — can also use the lounge. I gained entry via Priority Pass, and that’s exactly what makes this lounge equally appealing to occasional and frequent travelers alike.
Upon entering, I immediately noticed that the lounge was fairly busy. Peak times at Brussels Airport are common, and this is reflected in the lounges too. Getting the best photos was therefore a challenge — in reality, the lounge feels somewhat calmer once guest numbers normalize.
Facilities
The Diamond Lounge is primarily functional — don’t expect an architectural wow factor or an unusual design. At its core, it’s a large room with various seating options, arranged practically but without much creativity.
-
Just past the reception, there’s a long communal table with multiple seats, ideal for guests who want to grab a quick bite or work briefly on their laptop.
-
Along the windows, there are plenty of seats with natural daylight — always a plus in my book, as it makes the stay feel more welcoming and less confined.
-
Left side: smaller tables with subtle plants, which at least add a touch of coziness.
-
Right side: additional seating groups, along with the central area housing the food and drink station.
Overall, the atmosphere is functional: there’s enough space to sit down, eat, or relax. A special lounge feel doesn’t really emerge, though — anyone looking for an exclusive ambiance will likely be disappointed here.
Food & Drinks
The culinary offering is absolutely solid for a Priority Pass lounge.
-
Hot dishes are available, rotate regularly, and are continuously replenished. During my visit, a changeover was taking place, so I could only photograph the signage.
-
Cold options: salads, cold cuts, cheese boards, and small snacks are on offer.
-
Bar & drinks: I particularly appreciate the self-service bar. It stocks soft drinks, water, beer, wine, and a small selection of spirits. Coffee machines for hot drinks are of course available as well.
The quality is fine — don’t expect a fine dining experience, but for a relaxed snack or a quick drink before your flight, the selection is more than adequate. All in all, I was satisfied with my visit. The one thing I missed was power outlets — in my opinion, there simply aren’t enough of them. The food and drinks are decent, and I always appreciate seating areas with natural light.
Seating & Facilities
One plus point is that the lounge has its own restrooms, so you don’t need to head back out into the public terminal. Cleanliness and maintenance were also up to scratch during my visit.
What did stand out negatively, however, was the low number of power outlets. For travelers who still need to work or charge their devices, this is a real drawback. Anyone traveling today with a laptop, tablet, and smartphone will quickly find that the available sockets simply don’t cut it.
The seating areas are sufficient but can feel crowded quickly during peak times. The window seats are the most pleasant — in the middle of the lounge, there’s a noticeable lack of privacy.
Service
Service at the Diamond Lounge tends to stay in the background: there’s no table service, and everything operates on a self-service basis. That said, staff are present and ensure the buffet is regularly restocked and the lounge is kept clean. During my stay, this was consistently maintained — I didn’t encounter any empty trays or overloaded tables.
Verdict
The Diamond Lounge Brussels is not a spectacular lounge, but it reliably serves its purpose: a quieter environment away from the terminal, with adequate food and drinks, natural light, and solid cleanliness.
Particularly worth highlighting:
- the great location right next to the Loft Lounge,
- the wide range of access options (including Priority Pass),
- and the sufficient selection of food and drinks.
I see clear room for improvement in the power outlet situation and the décor, which remains rather plain. That said, if you’re looking for a break from the hustle of the terminal, this lounge will serve you well.
