This is a short review of the Lufthansa Lounge at Charles de Gaulle. Many describe it as more of a “bunker.” Whether that’s actually fair — read on to find out.
Location
The Lufthansa Lounge is located in Terminal 1, Satellite 6. There you need to take the elevator down to the basement, and you’ll find yourself right in front of the lounge.
Access
You can access the Senator Lounge with a Star Alliance Gold card. With a Business Class ticket, you get access to the Business Lounge. As far as I know, you can also purchase entry through Loungebuddy.
Amenities
When I visited, this lounge still had the old color scheme and the familiar seating. There was a counter with plenty of power outlets, plus a small separate room that used to have PCs. Today it’s designated as a work area and simply has more comfortable chairs (and a table) where you can work a bit better than in the armchairs. You’re also more shielded from curious glances here.
The buffet is split into two sections — one with cold dishes (cheese, cold cuts) and another with various types of bread. Since I was there in the morning, breakfast was set up. There’s also the option to make coffee or enjoy the full range of beverages.
Verdict
Sure, it’s always nicer to have a lounge with natural light. Still, this lounge offers everything you need for your stay to continue your journey well fed. I also found the staff very friendly (and that despite the early hour). If you have more time and don’t mind going through security twice, the Star Alliance Lounge is certainly better. But that doesn’t mean the Lufthansa Lounge is bad.
