The easily forgotten (unfortunately by us too), but underrated Star Alliance Gold Lounge in Frankfurt.
Location & Access
Terminal 1, Area A (Schengen), Gate A26 – right where frequent flyers end up in the Senator Lounge. Access is available for Business Class passengers and status guests when the main lounges are bursting at the seams yet again. The name “Panorama” comes from the apron view – and yes, it’s genuinely nice. Other than that: a classic Lufthansa emergency exit in lounge form.
Food & Drinks
The culinary concept: copy-paste of the Business Lounge, just smaller. Mornings bring scrambled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, and the obligatory Lufthansa pretzel. Around lunch it’s pasta, soup, or something that tastes like Lufthansa. On the drinks side: standard fare. Draft beer, white wine from the cooler, Gin Tonic and Avionic from the bottle. No experiments, no luxury – but at least: everything reliable, everything complimentary, everything very… Lufthansa.
Seating Comfort & Facilities
Modern, bright, with large windows and real daylight – less lounge, more living room feeling. Space is limited, but the atmosphere feels calmer and a bit less hectic. Wi-Fi stable, power outlets available, restrooms right inside the lounge (and usually cleaner than in the main area).
Highlights & Tips
Window seats are scarce and highly sought after – grab one and you get front-row apron viewing.
Self-serve drinks, no bar service. But that means less small talk, more peace and quiet.
If you’re looking to work, there are quiet nooks with power outlets toward the back.
Verdict
The Lufthansa Panorama Lounge Frankfurt is no premium temple – but a pleasant retreat with a view.
