Lufthansa has long been a dominant presence at Munich Airport, so it’s no surprise to find Lufthansa lounges spread throughout the terminal. One such lounge is located in the H 24 area of Terminal 2, where you’ll find both a Business Class Lounge and a Senator Lounge in the non-Schengen section.
Location and Access
Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm smile at the reception, which felt very welcoming. Entry to the lounge was swift, and I was soon able to relax inside. Generally, you can access the Business Class Lounge with a Business Class ticket or a Frequent Traveller status. If you have Star Alliance Gold status (such as Senator or HON Circle), you’ll be granted access to the Senator Lounge.
The lounge operates daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Amenities
The lounge itself is quite spacious but cleverly divided into different sections. When you first walk in, on the left side, you’ll find some seating options and a standing table. On the right, there are many other chairs that offer a comfortable place to relax.
Near the center of the lounge, there is a bar offering a variety of drinks and food. The selection of beverages is pretty much the same as in all other Lufthansa lounges and is definitely impressive. One small downside for me was the soft drinks, which are dispensed from machines rather than being served in bottles or cans.
The food area is located separately and ensures that you won’t leave the lounge hungry. There is a good range of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, all of which I found tasty and satisfying. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, there are also several desserts available to enjoy.
For those looking for something freshly prepared, there’s a small stand offering made-to-order dishes.
If you need to focus and work in a quieter setting, there’s a small business area equipped with desks and power outlets, which is great for getting some work done away from the rest of the lounge.
In the back section of the lounge, there are more comfortable seating options in the familiar Lufthansa design. You’ll also find plenty of power outlets by both the chairs and the standing tables. As a side note, I couldn’t help but notice that there are more power outlets here than in some First Class lounges!
In addition to the usual amenities like restrooms, the lounge also features shower facilities. Personally, I didn’t use the showers during my visit, so I don’t have photos to share, but I always appreciate having the option available.
If you have enough time and are looking to relax, there are also dedicated quiet rooms where you can unwind before your flight.
Conclusion
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is a typical example of what you can expect from the airline’s high-end lounges. During our visit, it wasn’t overcrowded, and we were definitely satisfied with the experience. For me, it’s a solid lounge, and I’d happily visit it again when departing from the non-Schengen area.
