At Düsseldorf Airport, in addition to two Priority Pass Lounges (Hugo Junkers Lounge and Open Sky Lounge), there is also a Lufthansa Business Class and Senator Lounge.
Location and Access
After the security checkpoint in Terminal A, you simply walk straight ahead (past the Duty Free) and go up one floor at the currency exchange (yes, those still exist). The opening hours are (as of 28.07.2021) Monday to Friday from 05:15 to 20:00. Currently, only the Business Lounge is open and therefore accessible to Star Gold and Business Class passengers of Lufthansa.
Due to the Corona situation, you also need to register here using the Luca App. Should this not be possible for whatever reason, you can also fill out a form with your contact details.
Amenities
The lounge essentially consists of just one long room, but it shines with its view of the apron.
All alcoholic beverages are served by the staff, and there are also soft drinks available for self-service. The photos show the lounge at a time when you could only get a sandwich / drink to take away. This has since changed, however, so you can once again get the famous potato salad with meatballs, cucumber salad, fruit, etc. It’s also nice, of course, that you’re now allowed to eat inside the lounge again.
There is a somewhat separated work area (though without computers), plus plenty of seating options. The lounge does have its own restrooms, by the way, though showers are not available in the Business Lounge.
Verdict
A classic Lufthansa Lounge with consistently friendly staff in my experience. It’s perfectly fine for a (short) stay. It remains to be seen when the catering will be brought back up to pre-Corona standards.
