I’ll admit, I had to go back and forth on whether to write this review. Partly because I personally just don’t like CDG as an airport, and partly because the lounge options for Star Alliance members aren’t exactly great. On top of that, the Star Alliance Lounge isn’t always closed. (As of December 2021).
Location and Access
The lounge is located in Terminal 2 D, opposite Gate D56, and is only for Schengen flights. If you still want to get there (from another terminal), you’ll need to go through security again. We got access through our Swiss Business Class ticket (and Star Gold status), but it’s also possible to get in via Priority Pass. You basically just need to follow the signs and head up the stairs (or elevator).
Amenities
The large room is quite cleverly divided by different seating areas. The reception area is kept rather simple, and unfortunately no magazines are offered due to Corona.
The buffet was quite decent, if a bit limited. Soft drinks are available in the fridge, and other (alcoholic) beverages are self-service.
The restrooms (no showers) are located on the lower level. Unfortunately, they weren’t exactly clean. Still, I tried to take a photo and put them in the best light possible.
Verdict
For a short stopover, the lounge is sufficient. Unfortunately, quite a few seats were occupied by trash, which is a real shame. It’s better than nothing and more comfortable than standing around downstairs at the gate. So I’d certainly come back.
