In Taipei I had some time and was able to visit the Singapore Airlines Lounge and Priority Pass Lounges in addition to the Eva Air Lounge. The Singapore Lounge is just a few minutes from the Eva Airways Lounge and was easily accessible with my HON/Star Alliance Gold status and the Eva boarding pass.
Location and Access
Perfectly accessible for Star Alliance passengers – no stress before boarding.
Amenities & Layout
I’d describe the layout as functional but not particularly inspiring: a long room with plenty of seating by the windows and in the interior. During my visit the lounge was quite busy, which made taking photos difficult – individual guests kept ending up in the frame everywhere.
Buffet & Food
At the end of the room the buffet awaits. The photos speak for themselves, but here’s the short version:
What I Tried
- Chicken (ok, but not fresh)
- Fresh fruit (good)
- Cake/snacks (average)
The essentials are there, but when it wasn’t too busy the buffet no longer seemed perfectly fresh. Sufficient for a quick stop, disappointing for foodies.
Verdict
The Singapore Airlines Lounge at TPE Terminal 2 is a solid Star Alliance option – perfectly accessible with Gold status and functionally equipped. Great for a quick coffee or work stop, but foodies and lounge snobs should opt for the Eva Air Lounge instead.
Recommendation: 3/5 – meets expectations but doesn’t exceed them.
