Swiss First Class Lounge Zurich (ZRH), Terminal A

The Swiss First Class Lounge in Terminal A Zurich impresses with excellent, attentive service and a high-quality dining offering at the staffed bar and restaurant area. The amenities including showers, quiet room, workspaces, and pick-up service are first-class – only the view falls short compared to the lounge in Terminal E.

Introduction

At my home base, I’m always very happy when I get to visit the First Class Lounge here. Why I like it so much — you’ll find out in this review.

Location and Access

I’ll be very honest here: you actually have three ways to access the Swiss First Class Lounge. The easiest one is via the escalator from Terminal A, where you also have a private security checkpoint. Then there are two more once you’re airside — one through the small, inconspicuous door next to the Senator/Business Class Lounge, or by taking the elevator via the Alpine Lounge and then turning left. It all sounds more complicated than it actually is. Still, I wanted to point out these options.

You can gain access either with a First Class ticket on Swiss/Lufthansa on the same day (arriving or departing) or as a HON member (with one guest on the same flight), regardless of booking class.

Food & Drinks

The first thing you notice is the large (staffed) bar in the center. Adjacent to it, tables are set up in a restaurant style where you can eat in peace. You can also get small bites at the bar, but otherwise you’ll be served at your table.

As you can see, the kitchen is designed so you can watch what’s going on inside. Next to it, there are fridges with small snacks and various drinks available for self-service.

Amenities

Restrooms and showers are available here and have always been in impeccable condition. To use the showers, you just need to check in briefly with the staff and they’ll hand you a key.

In addition to plenty of seating, there are also a few small rooms for working with a bit more privacy.

There’s a separate quiet room as well.

If you head upstairs toward the Pick up Point (in case you’re departing from a remote stand or want to be taken to Terminal E), you’ll find a meeting room and next to it a smoking room with a very small terrace in front.

From there, a longer corridor leads to the Pick up Point. Your driver will collect you there and take you directly to the aircraft (if it’s a remote stand) or, by prior arrangement, to Terminal E.

Verdict

Swiss has a really great lounge here that I always enjoy visiting. The service is consistently excellent and attentive, and they’re happy to help with smaller or larger requests. Compared to the Swiss First Class Lounge in Terminal E, the view here isn’t quite as nice — so if you have enough time, you should head over to Terminal E for the terrace. Other than that, you’re in very good hands here!
