Location and Access
I’ll refer back to the old review here — nothing has changed regarding access, only the location, as the lounge is now next to the Swiss Senator Lounge.
When you get there, just turn left.
Food and Drinks
The drink selection is quite good for the size of the lounge. Whether all of this is really First Class, however, I would question here and there. Next door at the Senator Lounge (review to follow) there was more on offer in some areas.
You’re also proactively asked whether you’d like something (provided a service staff member is present). However, there’s no printed menu for the food, which I find rather a shame. There aren’t that many seating options, but at least the power outlets are never far away, which I find quite well thought out.
A selection of dishes is then freshly prepared, and as far as I can remember, these were the options:
- Ravioli Ricotta
- Club Sandwich
- Pasta with salmon
- Risotto with mushrooms
- Caesar Salad
Amenities
This section is very short — because there aren’t any. If you wanted to mention something, it might be the service of having your documents checked right here in the lounge. That way you skip the queue at the gate to get a stamp.
There are no showers / toilets in the lounge. For that, you have to leave the lounge and then look for the airport toilets. It’s not far, but still not quite First Class. Somehow I can understand it though, as space here in the lounge is limited and there aren’t many flights with a First Class out of Geneva.
Service
I’d like to expressly praise the service here, because it’s really at First Class level. I was proactively asked whether I’d like to take an earlier flight, and they also helped me with my luggage issue. It should also be said that I was alone most of the time, so I can understand that a staff member isn’t permanently “assigned” to me here.
When I wanted to print something out, they walked me straight over to the Swiss Business Lounge — I thought that was a very nice gesture.
Verdict
Small but fine. That’s how Swiss themselves describe the lounge (incidentally still with a wrong image). The service once again makes the difference; otherwise, as a First Class Lounge, it just can’t fully convince me.
