Location & Access
The lounge is located in the F concourse, right next to the Senator and Business Lounge. Worth noting is that HON Circle members have access to a dedicated security lane, which can significantly reduce any wait times. A staff member there has a list of all HONs departing that day, and your name gets checked off quickly.
The location of this entrance is a bit tricky to describe – the easiest way is to walk straight ahead from the regular Austrian check-in area, and at the end you’ll spot this rather unassuming entrance.
In general, any HON Circle member flying with Austrian, Lufthansa, or Swiss from Vienna is entitled to access. Even if you’re continuing onward with a First Class ticket via Zurich, Munich, or Frankfurt, you’re welcome to use this lounge beforehand.
After our boarding passes were checked at the lounge entrance, we were able to step into this small but impressive space.
Dining
There’s a small buffet on offer, though you can also order from a printed menu. Quality-wise, there was nothing to complain about. There’s also a good selection of beverages – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Since the lounge rarely sees many guests, the hot food can lose some of its freshness after a while. Understandable, though, given the circumstances.

Seating / Rest Area
There are plenty of tables in this small lounge, and I honestly can’t imagine it ever getting truly full.
A separate rest area with two armchairs is also available.
Work Area
There’s also an admittedly very small work area with two PCs and the option to copy documents. The actual printer, however, is located just outside the lounge.
Showers
Just outside the lounge there are dedicated showers for HON guests, though I wasn’t able to visit them during my stay.
Service
As we were the first two guests that morning, the staff wasn’t quite ready for us yet and quickly worked to get the food set up. One of the team members was only on her second day of work, so things were a little rough around the edges – but still very warm and attentive throughout. You’re also asked whether you’d like to be served or prefer to help yourself.
Incidentally, your boarding passes stay at the lounge reception upon check-in, where staff also keep an eye on the time to make sure you head to the gate when needed. If your gate isn’t walkable, HON members are driven to the aircraft – though in our case we were simply picked up there.
Verdict
Small but mighty. That’s probably the best way to describe it. It’s a shame there are barely any power outlets in the lounge – that’s a bit of an annoyance. That said, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
