Swiss First Class Lounge Zürich (ZRH), Terminal E

Introduction

The Swiss First Class Lounge in Terminal E at Zürich Airport is one of the best lounges Swiss has to offer. If you’re travelling on a First Class ticket with Swiss or Lufthansa — or hold HON Circle status — you’re in for an experience that goes well beyond what you’d normally expect from an airport lounge.

What makes this place special is the combination of an outstanding champagne bar, hotel-quality rest rooms, and a sun terrace with a direct view of the tarmac. In other words: paradise for any aviation enthusiast.

Location and Access

The lounge is on the first floor opposite Gate E55 in Terminal E. Coming from Terminal A, you can reach Terminal E by train after passport control. Alternatively — and far more comfortably — you can take the shuttle service directly from Terminal A.

Access is granted to holders of a same-day First Class ticket on Swiss or Lufthansa, as well as HON Circle members. Each eligible guest may bring one companion travelling on the same flight.

Champagne Bar

Right at the entrance, you’re greeted by the champagne bar — the centrepiece of the lounge. A large wine humidor ensures proper storage, and the selection of champagnes and wines is impressive. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a quiet glass before your flight.

Seating Areas and Facilities

The lounge offers several distinct zones: quiet seating nooks, a separate dining area, and a conference room. The furnishings are high-end and the atmosphere is pleasantly calm — particularly from late morning onwards, once the initial rush dies down.

Food and Drink

The lounge serves food throughout the day. In the separate dining area, meals are brought to your table — the kitchen operates with real professionalism and attentiveness. It can get a bit busier before lunchtime, as many long-haul passengers tend to arrive at the same time.

Rest Rooms and Showers

A genuine highlight: the hotel-quality rest rooms. Each room — named after Swiss destinations like “St. Moritz” — comes with its own en-suite bathroom with shower, a comfortable bed, and complete privacy. One tip: if your room has an exterior-facing window, you’ll want to draw the curtains.

The Terrace

The undisputed highlight for aviation fans: the sun terrace with a direct view of the tarmac and taxiways. On a clear day, this is a world-class spot for planespotting — ideally with a glass of champagne in hand. This view is absent from the First Class Lounge in Terminal A, which is precisely what makes the Terminal E lounge so special.
