The United Polaris Lounge at Washington Dulles is what many US airlines wish they could be – thoughtful, high-quality, and without the usual lounge hangover of plastic and pretzels. It holds its own against its counterparts in Newark or Chicago – perhaps even a bit more relaxed and less crowded. A rare moment where United truly delivers on the promise of premium.
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge in the K11 Satellite impresses with natural daylight, large windows offering tarmac views, and diverse seating options for work, dining, and relaxation. The food selection meets the Lufthansa standard and is appealing, complemented by showers and a helpful service desk.
The Swiss Arrival Lounge in Zurich is a quiet hidden gem for arriving long-haul and short-haul passengers with lounge access. Particularly noteworthy is the shirt pressing service as well as the 20 showers named after Swiss destinations across 770 square meters. The breakfast-focused food offering is fitting and sufficient for the arrivals area.
A very nice lounge that is accessible from both the Schengen and Non-Schengen areas and has its own passport control. The bar, buffet, and restaurant offerings are impressive, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful – even when you're short on time, you'll be well taken care of.
For a short stay, the Hugo Junkers Lounge in Düsseldorf is a solid choice with friendly service and a decent buffet selection. Plenty of seating and a pleasant view of the apron make for a comfortable visit. At EUR 27.50 entry, however, the lounge is barely worth the price — it's best suited for Priority Pass holders.
The Primeclass Lounge in Terminal E at Zurich impresses with generous space, an appealing food and beverage selection, and a lovely terrace. The option to shower before departure is a particular highlight. The only minor criticism is the insufficient number of power outlets.
