The new Swiss Business Class amenity kit, part of the Senses concept, is designed with sustainability in mind but disappointing in execution. The basic contents are very sparse, and the optional add-on items can't make up for the missed opportunity to create something truly premium.
A strong amenity kit from SWISS that convincingly combines quality and sustainability. The reusable iPad pouch and premium products from Zimmerli and Söder impress, while the included sleep mask and overall scope slightly disappoint compared to Emirates kits.
The Edelweiss Business Class amenity kit on long-haul flights disappoints with minimal contents – socks, a toothbrush with toothpaste, and a sleep mask. For an airline with premium aspirations and corresponding ticket prices, the quality is clearly too low.
British Airways Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus) offers good value for money on shorter long-haul routes, with comfortable seats, solid catering, and complimentary drinks. The entertainment system is outdated, which slightly dampens the overall impression. If you want to avoid Business Class prices, this is a solid choice.
Turkish Airlines Economy impresses primarily with its attractive value for money on short and medium-haul routes. The cabin, catering, and generous entertainment offering are solid for economy class. If you're flexible on seat selection and comfort, this is a good alternative to pricier direct flights.
Ethiopian Airlines offers a solid Business Class on the A350 with lie-flat seats in a 2-2-2 layout, good entertainment, and regular drink service. The cabin, however, shows signs of wear quickly. As a Miles & More redemption, the DXB-ADD-ZRH routing is an attractive value proposition thanks to low taxes and a long lie-flat rest period.
Air Dolomiti Business Class on the Munich–Geneva route disappoints particularly in service and catering: the offering was limited to some fresh fruit and a small snack – hardly adequate for Business Class. The service was friendly but lacked warmth, and overall the product has declined further compared to previous experiences. A deliberate booking with Air Dolomiti is therefore hard to recommend.
The British Airways Lounge in Geneva impresses with its bright, pleasant atmosphere, a good selection of food and drinks, and practical amenities like power outlets at every seat and free Wi-Fi. A minor downside is that the toilets are publicly accessible in the hallway. Overall, it's well worth a visit before your flight.
The Bernerhof in Kandersteg is a solid, family-run hotel with an excellent location — just five minutes from the train station. Rooms and the wellness facilities are decent, though a pool is notably absent. For the price-to-value ratio on offer, the stay is well worth recommending.
Small but refined – that's an apt way to describe the Swiss HON/First Class Lounge in Geneva. The excellent, proactive service clearly elevates the experience to First Class level, while the lack of showers, limited seating capacity, and absence of a printed menu detract from the overall impression as a First Class lounge.
The newly renovated Swiss Business and Senator Lounge in Terminal D impresses with a warm, inviting atmosphere, diverse seating areas, and a fresh food and beverage offering. The only downside: showers are still located in the hallway outside the lounge. Overall, a successful result that can hold its own.
A solid but unremarkable lounge at Geneva Airport, located at the far end of the lounge area in Terminal 1. The food and drink selection is modest but sufficient to make the wait pleasant. A welcome option for Priority Pass holders — though not worth arriving early for.
The Swiss Arrival Lounge in Zurich is a quiet hidden gem for arriving long-haul and short-haul passengers with lounge access. Particularly noteworthy is the shirt pressing service as well as the 20 showers named after Swiss destinations across 770 square meters. The breakfast-focused food offering is fitting and sufficient for the arrivals area.
The outbound flight disappointed with service on par with Ryanair, while the return flight impressed with a warm welcome, proactive service, and a good breakfast. The Business Class product is very basic — identical seat pitch to Economy (30 cm, merely the middle seat left empty) — and the author would not pay the upgrade fee on this short-haul route.
The temporary Swiss HON Circle Lounge in Geneva is housed in a partitioned section of the Business Class Lounge due to water damage, and while it serves its purpose, it cannot compete with the other Swiss First Class Lounges. Swiss has made the best of the situation – the attentive service was particularly impressive. A visit to the actual HON Lounge remains to be seen.
The Swiss First Class Lounge in Terminal A Zurich impresses with excellent, attentive service and a high-quality dining offering at the staffed bar and restaurant area. The amenities including showers, quiet room, workspaces, and pick-up service are first-class – only the view falls short compared to the lounge in Terminal E.
Air Serbia impresses on the short-haul Zürich–Belgrade route with excellent service and solid catering including a printed menu. The business upgrade for CHF 100 offers outstanding value for money and makes Air Serbia a clear recommendation within Europe.
The Swiss First Class Lounge in Zurich Terminal E is one of the best airport lounges in Europe, with excellent service, a beautiful champagne bar, and unique hotel rooms with showers. It can get quite crowded until midday, after which you have the lounge almost to yourself. The terrace overlooking the apron and the personal service in particular set this lounge clearly apart.
The SWISS Premium Economy amenity kit impresses mainly with its sustainable approach — the container made from recycled newspaper is a unique idea so far. However, the contents with sleep mask, toothbrush, and earplugs are quite modest and don't offer any particular wow factor.
The Capsule Hotel Zürich is an outstanding option for early-morning flyers and travelers with long layovers, thanks to its prime location right next to Check-in 1 at ZRH. The modern capsules impress with clever design, and the offering of a spa, co-working spaces, and a 24/7 bar sets it clearly apart from classic airport hotels. If you're looking for comfort and location at a fair price, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better alternative.
The new SWISS Premium Economy offers a noticeable upgrade over Economy with its hard-shell seat, 15.6-inch screen, noise-cancelling headphones, and 2×23 kg baggage allowance. Not Business Class, but a more comfortable travel option – provided the price is right.
The newly opened Hyatt Place at The Circle at Zurich Airport, which opened on December 15, 2021, exceeded all expectations — from the stylish lobby to the room with a runway view. The service was exceptionally friendly, and even at the opening everything ran smoothly. For aviation enthusiasts and travelers flying out of Zurich, this hotel comes highly recommended.

The Lufthansa Business Class on the Zurich–Frankfurt–Dubai route disappointed with a listless crew, absent Senator recognition, and minor catering shortfalls. The value of the 199 CHF upgrade was acceptable, but overall the experience fell short of expectations. All things considered, it was still great to be back in the air.
The Horizon Lounge in Geneva is a solid but unremarkable option for travellers with lounge access. Perfectly adequate for a short stopover before a connecting flight — but anyone expecting comfortable working conditions or a wide range of offerings will be disappointed.

Despite the older A330 product, the flight in Swiss Business Class was a real treat – an exceptionally attentive and motivated crew ensured a relaxed travel experience. The food, featuring beef entrecôte tataki, braised beef brisket, and yuzu lemon meringue, impressed across the board. Only the small entertainment display and the limited film selection slightly dampened the otherwise very positive impression.
The InterContinental Davos impresses with bright, modern rooms, friendly and attentive service, and an excellent breakfast buffet. Thanks to the IHG Ambassador Programme, the property offers exceptional value — including upgrades and lounge access. Despite its current closure, a return visit in any season comes highly recommended.
The Hyatt Regency Zürich Airport The Circle impresses with outstanding, personal service and modern, comfortable rooms right at the airport. The location in The Circle is ideal for travelers, and the Babel restaurant with its Middle Eastern cuisine and the IRIS Bar round out the experience beautifully. An absolutely recommendable hotel – the author has already booked again.
Swiss relies on the premium partner Victorinox for their amenity kits, which is mainly reflected in the attractive and reusable pouch. The contents, however, remain rather basic with socks, sleep mask, earplugs, and dental care, and don't fully live up to the airline's quality standards.
The Primeclass Lounge in Terminal E at Zurich impresses with generous space, an appealing food and beverage selection, and a lovely terrace. The option to shower before departure is a particular highlight. The only minor criticism is the insufficient number of power outlets.

The la prairie creams and the emphasis on Swissness with products like Ricola elevate the kit to a first-class level. A well-executed amenity kit that lives up to the standards of First Class.
The Swiss Business Class amenity kit, shaped like an iPad cover, is practical and comes in two shades of grey. The contents — lip balm, sleep mask, socks, earplugs, and dental care — are solid but not particularly generous. Overall, a decent, recycling-conscious kit without any major surprises.
The SWISS amenity kit, produced in collaboration with Victorinox, covers only the bare essentials and offers no real luxury items. Despite the renowned Victorinox brand, the kit falls short of expectations and fails to impress in either design or content. Still, it does provide some added value when traveling.
The Swiss Alpine Lounge in Dock A of Zurich Airport impresses with a successful ambience, friendly staff, and an offering with a clear focus on Swiss products. Particularly positive is the quiet atmosphere compared to the main lounge in Terminal A.
The outbound flight with Swiss impressed with an exceptionally motivated and warm crew, while the return flight with Helvetic Airlines disappointed with reserved service and a limited drinks selection. COVID-related restrictions were noticeable on both flights — from chaotic boarding processes to reduced onboard service. Overall, a solid but inconsistent short-haul Business Class experience.
